Text message consent

Last updated: October 30, 2026

SingleHunt (SingleHunt, Inc.) texts members only after they agree to it, once, when they sign in. This page shows that agreement exactly as members see it.

Where members agree

The sign-in screen of the SingleHunt app has a box under the phone number, with these words beside it:

“SingleHunt uses your phone number to verify your account, to text you reminders about your first dates and drink proposals, and to send occasional offers from SingleHunt. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to stop. I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.”
  • The box is unticked by default. A member must tick it themselves.
  • Ticking it is required: tapping Log in (SEND CODE on the web sign-in) with the box unticked sends nothing and outlines the box in red until it is ticked.
  • “Terms of Service” and “Privacy Policy” link to singlehunt.com/terms (section 9, SMS Terms) and singlehunt.com/privacy.
  • The sign-in on the SingleHunt MatchQuiz web page has the same box and the same words.
  • Members who joined before the box existed see it once, as a sheet, the next time they open the app: the same unticked box and words, and an Agree to continue button that works only once the box is ticked (or Log out).
  • We record each member’s agreement once: the phone number it covers, when, the wording they agreed to, where (the app or the web) and the IP address it came from. The record is kept for 2 years after the member deletes their account.

What we text

Most texts are about the member’s own plans in SingleHunt: the sign-in code they ask for, and reminders about their first dates and drink proposals. We also send occasional offers from SingleHunt itself; never third-party marketing. Message frequency varies. For example:

  • A drink that is set: “SingleHunt: your drink with Nate is on. Meet at the bar counter, Nye’s Bar. Your QR code: https://singlehunt.com/drink?d=…”
  • A first-date reminder: “SingleHunt: reminder, your first date with Sam is today at 7:30 PM at Cadence Café. Open the app for the details.”
  • The sign-in code: “SingleHunt code: 123456. Don’t share this with anyone.”
  • An occasional offer (an example of the kind of text, not a current offer): “SingleHunt: This weekend only — your next drink proposal is on us. Open the app: https://singlehunt.com”

Stopping texts and getting help

  • Reply STOP to any text to stop them, and START to get them again; we record both. Reply HELP for help, or write to developer@singlehunt.com.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
  • Agreeing to texts is not a condition of buying anything. We do not sell or share phone numbers or this agreement with anyone for their marketing.

The full terms are in section 9 of the Terms of Service, and what we keep is in the Privacy Policy.
